Accounts Payable Supervisor

Service Specialists is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organization seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead its Accounts Payable team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with strong leadership experience who enjoys improving processes, mentoring employees, and ensuring accurate and timely payment operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounts payable best practices, internal controls, and ERP systems while thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of five Accounts Payable professionals.
  • Oversee the day-to-day accounts payable function, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Review and approve invoices, verifying proper coding, approvals, and purchase order matching.
  • Manage daily and weekly payment processing and vendor disbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls.
  • Resolve complex vendor and payment issues while serving as the escalation point for the AP team.
  • Monitor accounts payable aging and assist with cash flow forecasting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency through automation and system enhancements.
  • Partner with internal departments to ensure smooth and accurate invoice processing.
  • Support month-end close activities and maintain accurate financial records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of progressive Accounts Payable experience.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounts payable processes, and internal controls.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities with a collaborative management style.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
