Chief Accounting Officer
Job description
Service Specialists employment agency is recruiting a Chief Accounting Officer for a multibillion-dollar, full service, community bank headquartered in Baton Rouge. This individual will provide financial planning and direction to the Bank with a focus on shareholder value and profitability. $160k+ base in addition to $60k+ in bonus, equity and benefits!!!!
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the CFO on development of financial strategies.
- Oversees the general accounting function including the general ledger, financial statements and analysis.
- Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
- Researches and analyzes accounting matters.
- Develops, implements and upgrades financial systems and controls.
- Works with and presents information to senior management, the board of directors, advisors and shareholders/investors/analysts.
- Assists with activities such as business plan updates, pricing and interest rate risk oversight.
- Provides assistance and direction for independent audits and regulatory examinations.
- Assists with financial reporting activities and other special projects such as the annual report, proxy, and strategic planning are timely and accurately completed.
- Assists with the Bank’s Investor Relations activities which include providing updates and attending various meetings and conferences.
- Presents financial recommendations and financial reports to management.
- Ensures that all areas of responsibility are operated in compliance with governmental, regulatory and Bank goals and mandates.
- Supports and facilitates full cooperation with all audit or regulatory processes including timely response and reporting as required.
- Identifies, develops and recommends appropriate policies, procedures and guidelines in support of the Board of Director’s and management’s corporate governance role.
- Ensures that own work is in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in finance, accounting or related field required.
- MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of seven years’ experience in management of accounting and finance functions within the banking industry required
