A well-established and growing construction firm is seeking an experienced Controller to join its team in Greenville, Mississippi. This key leadership role will oversee all aspects of accounting and financial reporting, working closely with the CFO to ensure accurate financial management and strategic support for company operations.

About the Role

The Controller will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, managing month-end and year-end closings, and providing financial insights to support business decisions. This individual will ensure compliance with accounting standards, maintain internal controls, and streamline processes for efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and reporting.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and key performance metrics.

• Partner with the CFO to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.

• Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with GAAP standards.

• Support external audits and maintain relationships with auditors and banking partners.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

• Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction or related industry.

• Strong knowledge of financial closing processes and general ledger management.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $85,000–$120,000 (DOE)
