Seeking a Director of Financial Reporting for a large corporation in Madison County. The Corporate Accounting team is responsible for the Company’s 10K/10Q filing process and other SEC and non-SEC financial statement reports. The team also prepares analyses for internal reporting requirements and analysis to support our operations. This role will be an integral member of the team with future opportunities to advance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Prepare supporting documentation related to SEC filings
  • Work with internal and external auditors to coordinate the completion of quarterly reviews and the annual audit
  • Monitor current developments in accounting literature and SEC requirements
  • Assist with the maintenance of corporate accounting policies
  • Conduct technical accounting research and document accounting whitepapers for complex transactions, technical issues, recent accounting pronouncements and other relevant complex matters that arise during business
  • Assist with any ad-hoc assignments related to financial reporting, technical accounting, and relevant research. Support and back-up other members of finance and accounting as needed.

Qualifications

  • Licensed CPA required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • 5 -10 years (5 yr minimum) of work experience in public accounting or a large organization
  • Experience in implementing complex accounting and reporting standards
  • Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, and SEC reporting standards, as well as experience with technical research
  • Must possess strong analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen
  • Must have a passion for accuracy and a desire to understand the “why”
  • Must be detail oriented while being able to think big picture and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong relationship building skills and a highly professional “client service orientation”
  • Must be able to interact and communicate clearly with all levels of management
  • Must be an excellent team player who possesses solid interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent communicator in both oral and written settings

Salary:

  • Base salary ranging from $95k - $125k depending on candidate qualifications.
  • Eligible for bonus and stock grants.
