Director of Maintenace
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Maintenance to oversee and manage all aspects of their maintenance operations. As the Director of Maintenance, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and reliable functioning of the company owned locations and equipment, optimizing performance, and maximizing uptime.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy aligned with the company's objectives and industry best practices. Collaborate with senior management to define goals, budgets, and key performance indicators.
Maintenance Management: Lead and supervise a team of maintenance professionals, including technicians and support staff. Provide guidance, support, and training to ensure their effectiveness and continuous improvement. Allocate resources effectively and prioritize maintenance activities to minimize downtime and optimize store performance.
Equipment Maintenance: Manage the maintenance of fueling infrastructure and equipment, including tanks, pumps, dispensers, and related systems. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Vendor Management: Collaborate with external service providers, suppliers, and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair work. Develop and maintain strong relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
Budget and Cost Control: Develop and manage the maintenance department's budget, monitoring expenses, and optimizing costs without compromising safety or operational efficiency. Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and equipment upgrades.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to fleet and equipment maintenance. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures, promoting a culture of safety within the maintenance department.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data-driven approaches to track maintenance performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions. Prepare regular reports and presentations on key maintenance metrics, achievements, and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in maintenance management within the retail and petroleum industry.
Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, preventive maintenance programs, and compliance regulations.
Experience managing a diverse team of maintenance professionals, fostering teamwork, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Demonstrated budget management and cost control skills.
Familiarity with fueling infrastructure and equipment maintenance is advantageous.
Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software (Servicefusion, Gilbarco Veederroot, Comdata etc..)
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on practical and efficient solutions.
Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
