Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Management Information Systems and Technology for a healthcare company in Gillette, WY. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's technology infrastructure and ensuring its smooth operation. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategic plans to enhance our technological capabilities and support our business objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees a team that provides complex MIS/IT Services technical support with the goal of ensuring integrity and reliability of technologies.
  • Oversee MIS/IT projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a skilled MIS/IT team.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work MIS/IT Services environment.
  • Stays abreast of healthcare MIS/IT Services platform changes and health system reporting obligations to ensure the company keeps pace with the same.
  • Works with the Executive Team to identify and produce Clinical, Operational and Fiscal reports required to continually evaluate and improve global company performance.
  • Works with departmental leaders to identify departmental software/reporting/interface needs and aligns MIS/IT Services to provide said support.
  • Works with system leaders to develop needed business analytic reports and helps implement the same.
  • Responsible for ensuring the company telephone system, MIS/IT platforms, software interfaces functionally work as designed/needed.


  • Manages planned or unplanned MIS/IT Services maintenance, troubleshooting or root cause analysis, and problem resolution; seeks to minimize system downtime or service disruptions.
  • Identifies key performance and capacity metrics and monitors system performance.
  • Responsible for MIS/IT capital planning, budgeting, and vendor.
  • Develop and execute the organization's MIS/IT strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with technology vendors.
  • Ensure MIS/IT Services third-party services meet the organization's requirements and standards.
  • Develop and maintain MIS/IT Services strategies for business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Ensure data and systems can be restored in the event of an outage or catastrophe.
  • Ensure the organization's MIS/IT operations adhere to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain records and documentation for MIS/IT Services compliance purposes.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Good interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Refined MIS/IT Services problem identification/resolution acumen.
  • Refined business analytics development acumen.
  • Broad knowledge of working with various MIS/IT Services platforms/software and extensive MIS/IT Services platform interface knowledge.
  • Refined acumen listening and understanding what is needed at the departmental MIS/IT platform level and aligning MIS/IT Services to meet this departmental need.
  • Refined MIS/IT vendor contract negotiations acumen.
  • Refined MIS/IT Services operational modeling fiscal impact analysis/acumen.
  • Refined MIS/IT Services back-up; emergency re-start/Emergency Preparedness set-up acumen.
  • Refined ability to translate MIS/IT Services terminology into “layman’s terms” non MIS/IT Services staff can functionally understand.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IT management and leadership roles.
  • Certification in relevant areas such as ITIL, CISSP, or PMP preferred.
