A respected, family-owned Mississippi construction company is expanding its presence in the Oxford market and seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial projects. We are looking for someone who understands how to truly run a commercial jobsite—someone who can lead subcontractors, anticipate problems, manage schedules, communicate effectively, and take ownership of a project from mobilization through turnover.
Lead day-to-day field operations for commercial construction projects
Manage subcontractors, trades, vendors, deliveries, and onsite personnel
Develop and maintain short-term and overall construction schedules
Coordinate sequencing of trades to keep projects moving efficiently
Conduct regular jobsite meetings and communicate project priorities
Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and other construction documents
Work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate schedules, budgets, procurement, and project needs
Maintain high standards for quality control and workmanship
Enforce company safety policies and jobsite safety requirements
Identify potential conflicts, delays, or constructability issues and proactively develop solutions
Maintain accurate daily reports and field documentation
Coordinate inspections and work with owners, architects, engineers, and local officials as needed
Manage punch-list completion and project closeout
Build strong working relationships with subcontractors while holding teams accountable for schedule and quality
Commercial construction experience is required
5+ years of construction experience with significant commercial project experience preferred
Proven experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or comparable field leadership position
Experience managing commercial projects from ground-up construction and/or major renovation through completion
Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and quality control
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents
Strong knowledge of subcontractor coordination and jobsite management
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to anticipate problems rather than simply react to them
Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
OSHA training/certification preferred
Experience with construction management and field documentation software preferred
