Accounting Manager
Location: Richland, MS
Salary: $125K–$140K + Benefits

Service Specialists recruiting agency is partnering with a well-established company in the manufacturing/building materials space is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team. This is a high-impact role supporting day-to-day accounting operations while partnering closely with leadership to drive performance and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
• Partner with operations and leadership to analyze performance and support decision-making
• Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering a strong team environment
• Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies
• Maintain internal controls and support audit processes
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and shared services teams
• Support special projects and system/process enhancements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (manufacturing or industrial environment preferred)
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, close process, and internal controls
• ERP experience (SAP or similar preferred)
• CPA or CPA-track is a plus
• Proven leadership or mentorship experience
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
