Service Specialists is recruiting on behalf of a well-established, multi-state organization seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join its team in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
This position is ideal for a payroll professional with extensive UKG Ready (Kronos) experience who has managed high-volume, multi-state payrolls across multiple entities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and confident managing the full payroll process while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Process full-cycle payroll for multiple entities using UKG Ready (Kronos).
Manage multiple payroll cycles, including:
Weekly payroll for approximately 1,300 employees
Weekly payroll for a small employee group
Monthly payroll for executive leadership
Process payroll for both hourly and salaried employees across multiple states and EINs.
Prepare and transmit ACH payroll files.
Process payroll deductions, garnishments, child support orders, and other required withholdings.
Complete new hire, rehire, and employee status changes, including compensation updates and payroll deductions.
Prepare and distribute year-end tax documents and complete required payroll reporting.
Respond to employee payroll questions, employment verification requests, and payroll-related inquiries.
Partner with leadership and department managers to resolve payroll issues and ensure accurate payroll processing.
Maintain payroll records while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Qualifications
Extensive hands-on experience with UKG Ready (Kronos) is required.
Experience processing payroll from start to finish for multiple EINs.
3–5+ years of payroll experience in a mid-sized or large organization.
Experience processing payroll for a multi-state workforce.
Strong understanding of payroll tax reporting, garnishments, compliance, and payroll regulations.
Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
