Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)
Location: Columbus, Mississipp
Compensation: $110,000 – $150,000 base + $20,000 Sign-On Bonus + Relocation Assistance
Position Overview
Service Specialists recruiting agency is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead daily operations for a well-established, community focused independent pharmacy in east Columbus, MS. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent PharmD graduate or earlycareer pharmacist looking to step into a leadership role in a supportive, lower volume environment. This store operates at a manageable pace, allowing the pharmacist to focus on patient care, team leadership, and operational excellence without the pressure often experienced in large retail settings.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- Every Other Saturday: Half-day schedule
- Closed on Sundays
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing daily pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance
- Accurately review and dispense prescriptions while ensuring patient safety
- Provide counseling to patients on medications, including dosage, side effects, interactions, and storage
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and support staff
- Maintain compliance with all pharmacy regulations and controlled substance procedures
- Oversee medication inventory, ordering, and documentation
- Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals
- Maintain accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation
- Support a positive, patient-centered pharmacy experience for the community
Leadership & Operational Responsibilities
- Train, mentor, and guide pharmacy technicians and support staff
- Manage workflow to ensure efficient pharmacy operations
- Address customer questions and resolve concerns professionally
- Uphold pharmacy policies, safety protocols, and quality standards
- Contribute to continuous process improvement and operational efficiency
Ideal Candidate Profile
- PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited program
- Eligible for or currently holding Mississippi Pharmacist License
- New graduates encouraged to apply
- Strong communication and patient counseling skills
- Interest in leadership and pharmacy operations
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to build relationships with patients and team members
