PROJECT MANAGER / ESTIMATOR
Location: Madison, Mississippi
Salary: $100K+ DOE

Service Specialists is recruiting an experienced Project Manager / Estimator for an established, family-owned construction company with a growing presence in the Madison market. This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than simply managing the next project. As the company continues to grow its Madison operation and actively pursues expansion into North Mississippi, this individual will have the opportunity to play an integral role in that growth—helping establish relationships, develop new markets, and build the company’s presence throughout the region. Candidates may come from either civil or commercial vertical construction. The ideal candidate has experience in estimating, project management, or a combination of both and is comfortable taking ownership of projects from preconstruction through completion. While the position is based in Madison, MS, there may also be opportunities to support projects in North Mississippi on a project-by-project basis.

In This Role

• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, negotiated, and hard-bid estimates
• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analyses
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Develop bid packages and scopes of work
• Identify value-engineering opportunities
• Manage construction projects from award through closeout
• Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules
• Monitor project costs, profitability, and productivity
• Manage subcontractors, purchase orders, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications
• Lead meetings with owners, architects, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
• Ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with quality expectations
• Build strong relationships with clients and industry partners as the company expands into new markets

About You

• 5+ years of estimating and/or project management experience
• Experience in civil or commercial vertical construction
• Strong understanding of construction methods, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and project controls
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities and making independent decisions
• Strong financial and business acumen
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
• Confident taking ownership without requiring constant direction
• Collaborative, approachable, and team-oriented
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Construction, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered
