Systems Administrator (Ridgeland, MS)

Service Specialists is representing a highly respected Mississippi organization that is seeking to add a Systems Administrator to its IT department. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity based in Ridgeland, MS, offering a collaborative team environment, strong leadership, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the organization’s technology infrastructure.

Compensation

• Base salary: Up to $110,000
• 8% annual cash bonus opportunity

What You’ll Do

Working closely with the IT Manager and broader IT team, you’ll support both day-to-day operations and long-term technology initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows servers, workstation operating systems, and related hardware
• Support an environment of 300+ workstations and numerous servers across local and remote locations
• Administer and support VMware, Citrix, Active Directory, Azure, and Microsoft 365 environments
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, security patches, and system updates
• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of business-critical IT services
• Provide technical support, including participation in an on-call rotation as needed
• Perform workstation deployments, user moves, equipment setup, and technology rollouts
• Assist with IT planning, process improvements, and technology initiatives
• Maintain backup, disaster recovery, and system documentation
• Promote security best practices and ensure compliance with internal IT policies
• Travel occasionally to support acquisitions, equipment deployments, and remote locations

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience and certifications
• 5+ years of systems administration or advanced technical support experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, networking, virtualization, and cloud technologies
• Experience supporting medium to large enterprise environments
• Hands-on experience with:
• Windows Server
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Microsoft Exchange
• Microsoft Azure
• Microsoft 365
• Active Directory
• VMware
• Citrix
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Professional communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• High level of integrity with the ability to work with confidential systems and information
