Client: Government Contractor
Our client operates in the federal, state, and local arenas of government contracting. They provide services of all kinds to government agencies including back office support and call center operations.
In the fall of 2020, COVID-19 was flaring up across the country. Mississippi, a state with a myriad of health disparities in combination with COVID, experienced a potentially devastating scenario. The state released an RFQ to address its contract tracing and follow up needs for cases throughout the state. The startup had to be immediate with qualified staff who could hit the ground running in order to launch the state’s call center operations for COVID-19.
Service Specialists put together a plan to have over one hundred qualified call center Disease Intervention Specialists available for our client to launch immediately if they were awarded the contract. We worked around the clock recruiting, interviewing, and background checking potential employees so that we would be ready to staff the opportunity if it was awarded to our client.
To accomplish this, we utilized online databases as well as our internal database to create a qualified staff of college graduates experienced in customer service. Within three days of the contract award, our staff was ready to send the client qualified applicants for the opportunity.
Six Service Specialists recruiters were assigned to this project, and they had a roster of staff ready to work at the call center within ten business days. Our efforts resulted in a successful operation for our client which has enabled them to seek additional opportunities.
Client: Temporary Staffing
This client warehouses and ships products throughout the country, and they have operated successfully for over fifty years. We have partnered with them for over twenty of those years.
When COVID-19 hit, the warehouse and shipping industry was paralyzed. Service Specialists had to change our approach to finding workers for our client during the ongoing pandemic. Applicants were scarce. Workers being provided unemployment relief exceeding their wages presented an unprecedented challenge.
Service Specialists put together a plan to go out and find staff. We had to utilize new and never-before-tried recruitment strategies including on-the-ground searches for potential applicants.
We used various online sites as well as our own internal database to put together potential applicant pools. These sites were targeted hourly as new applications were submitted.
We were able to stabilize a workforce for our client within two weeks so that they could continue operations. Meeting our customer’s needs in a quick and efficient manner was both challenging and rewarding. These efforts resulted in a successful operation for our client and enabled them to seek additional opportunities.

This company excels within ranges from medical practices that require medical professionals and an industry-specific team, financial firms, and dealerships that primarily require temp staff.
The company’s rapid growth required rapid recruitment of experienced talent with medical professionals, office staff, finance experts, and temporary employees. The time consumed hiring internally was impacting their core business. Specifically, this impacted their ability for the Human Resources department and hiring managers to address their other responsibilities.
