Senior Bridge Engineer (Project Lead) – Confidential

📍 Mississippi or Tennessee (multiple office locations)
💰 $130,000 – $150,000 + potential sign-on bonus + strong benefits

A well-established and highly respected engineering firm is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to lead bridge design and infrastructure projects across the Southeast. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex transportation projects while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to long-term growth initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Lead bridge design projects from concept through construction, including analysis, design, and plan production
• Develop and review plans, specifications, and calculations for transportation infrastructure projects
• Ensure compliance with DOT standards, AASHTO guidelines, and project requirements
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to drive successful project delivery
• Provide technical oversight and quality control on design documents and engineering work
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff
• Conduct occasional site visits and inspections (~10% travel)
• Participate in client meetings and contribute to project strategy and execution

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
• 10+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a strong focus on bridge design
• Experience with DOT projects and transportation infrastructure standards
• Proficiency with bridge analysis/design software (e.g., OpenBridge, CSI Bridge, FB-MultiPier) and MicroStation or similar tools
• Strong understanding of AASHTO and relevant design codes
• Proven ability to manage projects, solve complex engineering problems, and communicate effectively

Preferred

• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
• Experience leading teams or managing projects
• Exposure to design-build or alternative delivery methods
• Familiarity with advanced bridge design techniques and materials
