Senior Estimator- Commercial Construction

Location: Ridgeland, MS
Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $120-$175k with potential of up to 30% annual bonus, and truck allowance of $800/month.

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator to lead the end-to-end bidding process for commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for coordinating estimating efforts, engaging vendors, analyzing construction documents, and transitioning awarded projects to project management. The Senior Estimator plays a vital leadership role in ensuring accurate, timely, and competitive bids that align with company goals for quality, safety, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the bidding process for assigned commercial construction projects
• Analyze drawings and specifications to prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
• Develop clear and comprehensive work scopes and bid strategies
• Coordinate and lead pre-bid meetings and site walkthroughs
• Communicate and collaborate with owners, architects, and design teams
• Solicit, review, and manage vendor and subcontractor bids
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with trade partners and suppliers
• Manage and mentor estimating team members including estimators, project coordinators, and interns
• Provide strategic input to leadership and project teams to support successful project delivery

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating
• Proven experience leading estimating teams or large-scale bid efforts
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and trade scopes
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize work effectively
• Strong leadership and team-building skills
