Systems Administrator (Ridgeland, MS)
Compensation: $85,000–$95,000 + Strong Benefits Package
Service Specialists is representing a highly respected, Mississippi organization that is seeking to add a Systems Administrator to its IT department. This is a full-time, inoffice role with a collaborative team, strong leadership, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on the company’s technology environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, supporting endusers, and ensuring that critical IT infrastructure runs smoothly and securely every day.
What You’ll Do
This Systems Administrator will work closely with the IT Manager and the broader IT team, supporting both daily operations and longterm technology initiatives. Responsibilities include:
- Managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows servers, workstation operating systems, and related hardware
- Supporting a network of 300+ workstations and numerous servers across local and remote sites
- Working within VMware, Citrix, Active Directory, Azure cloud services, and Microsoft 365
- Installing and configuring hardware, software, patches, and security updates
- Monitoring system performance and ensuring high availability of IT services
- Providing on-call technical support when necessary
- Assisting with user moves, device setups, and new system rollouts
- Participating in long- and short-term IT planning, policy development, and process improvements
- Conducting system backups, disaster recovery readiness, and documentation
- Ensuring compliance with IT policies and helping educate users on best practices
- Occasionally traveling for acquisitions, equipment needs, or system support
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical depth, professionalism, and a service-minded approach. Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent certifications/experience
- Several years of experience in IT technical support or system administration (5+ preferred)
- Strong understanding of server administration, networking principles, and cloud technologies
- Experience supporting a large or distributed IT environment
- Hands-on familiarity with Microsoft technologies:
- Windows Server
- SQL Server
- Exchange
- Azure
- Microsoft 365
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Strong time management, organization, and analytical/problem-solving abilities
- Integrity, trustworthiness, and the ability to handle sensitive systems and data
