Seeking a Sales Manager for a successful client in the waste management industry. This individual will lead the sales and business development initiatives in the growing company. This role is central to the growth strategy and is responsible for overseeing all sales operations, managing a team of Territory Sales Representatives and Inside Sales Representatives, and identifying new business opportunities across both commercial and government sectors. The Sales Manager will work closely with company leadership to expand market presence, improve revenue performance, and build long-term customer relationships.

The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a hands-on approach to managing people, processes, and pipeline. This person should have deep expertise in sales operations, data analysis, and customer acquisition within a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and coach a team of inside and territory sales representatives to achieve individual and team performance goals.
  • Take full ownership of all business development activities, from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Create and execute growth strategies to increase sales volume and market share across multiple verticals.
  • Identify and pursue new commercial, industrial, and government customers through prospecting, networking, and relationship-building.
  • Support pursuit and development of government RFPs, major commercial bids, and national account opportunities in coordination with leadership and operations.
  • Manage all aspects of bid development, including response strategy, proposal preparation, and coordination with operations and executive leadership.
  • Monitor sales activity, performance trends, and market conditions to continuously adapt strategy and maximize effectiveness.
  • Maintain and utilize Salesforce CRM to manage sales pipeline, track customer interactions, and generate performance reports.
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based sales reports and forecasting tools to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on pricing models, territory alignment, and long-term business planning.
  • Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and community engagements to strengthen brand visibility and build relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management or business development, preferably in waste, recycling, or related service industries.
  • Proven ability to manage and grow high-performing sales teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data modeling, pivot tables, and reporting.
  • Expert-level experience with Salesforce CRM, including dashboard management, pipeline tracking, and analytics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment with evolving goals and priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.

Salary: Base 75% + Commission 25% ($70k-$90k)
