Seeking a skilled Staff Accountant for a waste management company in Oxford. This individual will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department by managing various accounting functions related to the operations. The Ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a growing company.

Key Responsibility:

  • Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports to provide insights into business performance and trends.
  • Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions between different business units within the organization.
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process by providing accurate and timely financial data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations.
  • Assist in the coordination of audits conducted by external auditors and regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting procedures and enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation for audit trail purposes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 3+ Years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP and Microsoft Excel)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability to change and an eagerness to grow.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
